August 13th and 14th we battled it out on Lake Thompson. The first day fishing was great. Many of bass came from the huge slop fields on the north end of the lake, oh yeah, it was a topwater bite. Fishing was so good that day we decided to stay here for our second day instead of going to Nakomis. Rich got the win the first day by passing Brandon by only 3oz. He also had big bass with a 19" largemouth. The second day was a little slower and the slop bite was not as impressive. Brandon got the win and Dan had big bass with a 18.5" largemouth. We headed it up north for our next two tournaments. Stayed the weekend at Art's cabin on lake X we'll call it. Art was a great host and the fishing was wonderful. Brandon and Matt battled it out all day for the top spot with Matt being the victor. Both guys caught 18.5" smallmouths that day and tied for big bass on day one. Day two was a little slower, but the big fish came out to play. Brandon and Matt again tied for big bass each with 19.5" smallmouths. But this time Brandon got the win with Dan L. comming in second with a 19.25" smallmouth.
